A Candle.....Ok, so I used Lovely as a Tree!!!

Morning, .......brrrrrr it's definitely getting colder.  Though without any heating at the moment think it's colder indoors than out.  So if you're coming to my card classes this week bring an extra wooly jumper!  Hopefully it will be fixed by Thursday class.

If you are trying this technique at home what you need to do is:
  • Stamp image onto tissue paper
  • Place a dab of glue on candle to hold tissue in place
  • Wrap some wax paper around candle (It's to stop the wax from melting and your fingers from burning)
  • Using heat gun, transfer the image from the tissue paper onto the candle, this actually doesn't take very long, just be careful when peeling the paper away
Hope you enjoyed this project and look forward to sharing more soon?

Take care and happy crafting

Lovely as a Tree... I LIED!!!!!!

Morning everyone.

I'm struggling to find time to update my blog at the moment but am so desperate to share all the Christmas crafting cards and gifts yumminess, so that it might give you some inspiration too.  So if I forget or have forgotten in the next few blogs to include the names of the products used please ring or drop me an email and I'll happily tell you.

Ok, now I know I said no more Lovely as a Tree, but surely you would agree I needed to show you this one?
I embossed using the Northern Flurry folder and the Designer Frames on the big shot in Cherry Cobbler, hopefully you can just make that out in the photos? Then punched out the oval.  Mounted it onto Always Artichoke and stuck that on Very Vanilla card stock.  As you can see peeking out from the oval is a stamped tree and I added an Ornamental Keepsake bauble to the front.

I do think this card is very elegant and I know our ladies really enjoyed making this at the last class.
I still have places on Thursday evening and Friday morning this week if you would like to join us.  I can't promise we are not using Lovely as a Tree though!!!

Many thanks for looking and happy crafting

Convention 2013, Manchester

Evening everyone.  Just had to share a few photo's from my amazing weekend at my first, 2013 Manchester Stampin'Up Convention.  I really wasn't too sure what to expect apart from learning new techniques, improving my business plan and how to make it profitable.  But it was SO much more.  I hadn't anticipated how friendly and welcoming everyone was.  I really believe I've made some new great friends/demo's and what's so special is that if it wasn't for my current carding ladies and you for holding hostess parties, this weekend wouldn't have been possible.  So just want to say a HUGE 'Thank You ' for making this a dream weekend.
I'd love to share this experience with you and sneaky peak its going to be in Brussels next year on the 16th October -18th October 2014, Yippee!

There was over 800 people present at this event and part of the experience is sharing ideas with each other which we call swaps.  I made 100, with help from my mum, Auntie Christine, Auntie Pam, Sally, Katie, Ann, Chris, Gwyn and Sarah.  So a big 'Thank you' ladies. I was as far as I'm aware the only demonstrator to have done bags. I've been absolutely amazed by some of the swaps I've received and the humbling comments I've had back from the fab bags.

I spent the last few days getting to know my up-liner Donna very well and found it very reassuring that the worries and concerns I had as a demonstrator were the same things she'd also experienced along the way and was able to tell me ways to elevate my worries.

To sum this weekend up

  • Made great new friends
  • Goals in place to grow my Stampin'Up Business
  • And learnt it's OK to love what you do and earn a little money as a plus!
The biggest change I now need to make, is my TIME MANAGEMENT!  I need to be able to prioritise

  1. Work and Stampin'Up
  2. Carding Classes
  3. Home Life Balance
Reason I'm sharing these with you is...if you feel i'm going off task slightly, please remind me what my goals were for 2014!

Thanks everyone for being to special!

Now to the photos.

Donna my upliner and myself at the award evening, such fun!

You can't go to Manchester without going to the Christmas Markets...They are AMAZING!  and it's obviously a must to have a mulled wine or two!

The Notebook and frame I made for my Upliner.  Sorry about quality and position of photo!

Fame at last! My swap BAG on a display board!

Hope you enjoyed looking at some of the swaps from the convention and soon I'll be sharing some of the Make and Take's we created too!

Take care and Happy Crafting.

Lovely as a Tree...take LAST ONE I PROMISE!

Morning everyone.  Yet another lovely class yesterday,  I do love my Thursdays and Fridays crafting. Hubby and I made a very good start on our Christmas shopping yesterday, followed by meal and then the most relaxing massage I think I've ever had. Mike was SO relaxed he fell asleep...slightly embarrassing because of the snoring!!!

Off to be allergy tested now! Long story... Will fill you all in tomorrow!

I do hope you have enjoyed my week of sharing the Lovely as a Tree stamp and you to can see how versatile it is.  I thought I'd finish with showcasing them all together ane finishing with a card I made at a recent card class.
